The federal rule
The EPA's Renovation, Repair and Painting rule covers paid work in housing built before 1978, rentals included. We follow its steps on every unit that applies.
The minor-repair exemption
Repairs under 6 square feet inside or 20 outside are exempt. Window replacement and demolition never are.
New Jersey's own rules
New Jersey adds lead-inspection duties for older rentals. Those are the owner's to confirm with an inspector; we do the repairs and the paperwork that comes with them.
